Curitiba will host the first edition of this week, from May 11th to 15th, 2026. Expo Village Italy Brazil, an initiative created to facilitate the entry of small and medium-sized Italian companies into the national market. The event is organized by Italian-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce of Paraná and is included in the 2026 Activities Catalogue of Assocamerestero, the association that brings together Italian chambers of commerce abroad.
The fair has three thematic areas: civil construction, the agri-food sector, and professional training. The proposed model combines logistical support, local presence, and networking opportunities for companies that produce quality goods but lack the commercial structure to operate in complex markets like Brazil.
Why now?
The project stems from a fact inherent in the Italian business landscape itself: over 90% of the country's companies are micro-enterprises, but only a very small percentage of them operate steadily in foreign trade. EVI Brazil It aims to fill this void with ongoing operational support, transforming what the organizers describe as "a structural barrier into a business opportunity."
The timing is supported by the commercial landscape. On May 1, 2026, the provisional application of the agreement between the European Union and Mercosur came into effect, which provides for a progressive reduction in tariffs for various product categories and creates more predictable conditions for investments and trade between the two blocs.
What the organizers say
“Expo Village Italy represents a concrete platform to also support micro-enterprises in international markets, through qualified relationships and permanent operational tools. Brazil currently offers a strategic window that we want to transform into real opportunities for the Italian business system,” stated the event organizers.
This initiative is unprecedented in the country and sees the city in Paraná as a gateway to the Brazilian market, considering the strong presence of... Italian-Brazilian community in the South region.
