Eataly World will showcase all aspects of Italian food, from production to consumption.

The city of Bologna, Italy, will host the world's first theme park dedicated to Italian cuisine, FICO Eataly World.

Developed by the Eataly gastronomic complex in partnership with Fabbrica Italiana Contadina (FICO), the attraction is scheduled to open in September 2017. Considered the "Disneyland of food," the venue will feature 25 restaurants, three bars, and 40 workshop spaces spread across 80 square meters.

The complex will be divided into six areas: meat; dairy products; cereals; fruits and vegetables; drinks and sauces; and desserts. “You will be able to see all stages of the chain, from animals to raw materials, with workshops and restaurants”, says Tiziana Primori, vice-president of Eataly and CEO of the park.

The 20-hectare area will be a kind of farm where visitors can experience the entire food production process. In addition, the theme park will feature Nutella fountains and an olive oil lake, where it will be possible to take gondola rides.

According to the organizers, Eataly World is expected to receive 6 million visitors per year. The site will also feature a hotel with capacity for 200 guests, scheduled to open in 2018. (by ANSA)
