O Consulate General of Italy in São Paulo It was announced that the deadline for mapping minor children will be extended. The decision comes after the Prenot@mi portal experienced technical instability in the registration section for this service.
Although the consulate reported that the system worked normally during the afternoon of this Thursday (29), tests carried out by the Italianismo team at various times throughout the day differ from the official position. The portal continued to present failures and did not allow the completion of registrations.
However, the consulate is awaiting decisions regarding the full restoration of its functions before releasing further details about the extension.
Technical failure It had prevented the submission of forms since last week.The problem was attributed to a system change in Rome, which affected both the Fast It portal and Prenot@mi in several consular offices around the world.
The original deadline for expressing interest would end this Friday (30). The mapping is a mandatory step to guarantee the scheduling of the recognition of Italian citizenship for children who were minors on May 24, 2025.
According to the official statement, the system is gradually returning to normal. The consulate reiterated its invitation for those interested to complete the mapping process as soon as access is restored, emphasizing that this will be the last opportunity.
The agency is also evaluating alternative methods for data collection, such as sending requests via email, should the instability persist. This measure aims to prevent citizens from being harmed by the technological error.
The new rules of the 2026 Budget Law have altered procedures for those born after May 2025. The right of these young people to recognition of citizenship, by virtue of the law, is conditional upon the presentation of a declaration. until May 31, 2026.
