Budget Law Process
The proposal is in its final stages of processing. This Friday (19), the general discussion began in the Senate. The analysis of the amendments is scheduled for Monday (22). On Tuesday (23), the Government is expected to present a “maxi-amendment” to the first part of the text, accompanied by a request for a vote of confidence.
The constitutional deadline for final approval is December 31st. If no decision is reached by that date, the so-called "provisional fiscal year" comes into effect, based on the previous year's budget.
Other measures under analysis
The package also includes changes aimed at the Italian community abroad and the promotion of the Italian language and culture. Among the proposed points:
- Extension to 36 months of the registration period in AIRE for newborns born abroad.
- 500 thousand euros, in 2026 and 2027, for Managing Entities of Italian language and culture courses
- €1,5 million, during the same period, for parity-based schools abroad, with a focus on scholarships.
- 500 euros for the network of honorary consuls for the 2026-2027 biennium.
- 500 euros to CGIE in 2026
- 700 euros to the Comites in 2026
- €1 million to Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad
All values are in addition to the resources initially planned.
