Even in times of the coronavirus emergency, the ritual of coffee at the bar is confirmed as one of the most difficult traditions to eradicate in the habits of Italians.
Based on the “Rapporto Ristorazione 2020 di Fipe Confcommercio” (referring to Istat data from December 2020), the Adnkronos ranked the price of a cup of coffee in the various provincial capitals of Italy.
Coffee at the bar: the most expensive cities in Italy
The most expensive coffee in Italy is paid in the North, more precisely in Trento: in the capital of Trentino Alto Adige, where a cup of coffee at the bar reaches the average price of 1,21 Euros.
In the ranking of the most expensive cities in Italy for the price of a coffee, Trento is followed by its neighbor Bolzano, where the average price is equal to 1,19 Euros. The Top 5 is completed by two capitals of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Pordenone e Udine, and Brescia: in these three cities the average price of a cup of coffee at the bar is 1,12 Euros.
In the top positions of the ranking are also Trieste, Padua and Bologna, where coffee at the bar costs 1,11 euros. The average price of 1,10 euros was recorded in Belluno, Ferrara, Gorizia, Modena, Ravenna, Rimini, Rovigo e Vicenza.

The cheapest coffee in Italy is drunk in bars Catanzaro, where you can drink a cup a 80 cents. In the ranking of the cheapest cities in Italy for coffee in bars, the following are Messina (0,81 cents) to Cosenza e Reggio Calabria (0,88 cents the cup).
