Historic bridge

The main attraction of Bassano del Grappa is the Bridge of the Alpini, also called Old Bridge. It's a wooden bridge over the river Brenta, designed in 1569 to withstand the large amount of water in the spring, coming from the melting snow of the mountains.

Famous Bassan

The most famous personality in the family is the journalist Pedro Bassan, who has worked at TV Globo since 1997, when he started as a sports reporter.

Born April 20, 1972 in Tupan, in the interior of São Paulo, Pedro Bassan presented articles on all of the broadcaster's journalistic programs, including Esporte Espetacular, Globo Esporte, Jornal Hoje and National Journal.

Furthermore, in 25 years at TV Globo, he was a correspondent in Beijing and in the Iberian Peninsula and participated in the coverage of five Olympics and six World Cups.

Another famous member of the family, this time with a variant of the surname, is the former football player Oliverio Bazani Filho, the greatest star in the history of Train, team Araraquara, interior of São Paulo.

Born in Mirassol (3 June 1935) and died in Araraquara (13 October 2007), Bazani played for Ferroviária in the 1950s with Dudu, who would later be an idol of Palmeiras.

Later, the player passed through Corinthians and Portuguesa, until returning to Araraquara, where he worked as a Railway technician on several occasions. Today the entrance to Luminous Source Arena, the Ferroviária stadium, boasts a bust of Bazani, such is its importance for the institution.
