5G: the situation in Italy and Europe
As already mentioned, in the Ookla survey, 5G data in Italy was compared with that recorded in neighboring countries. Specifically, the Switzerland, with an average download speed of 177,33 Mbps recorded in the second quarter of 2021, is the fastest nation in terms of 5G.
A France appears immediately after (169,16 Mbps), then Eslovenia (145,78 Mbps), Austria (143,98 Mbps) and Italy (122,54 Mbps).
The same goes for data relating to the upload: in this case the ranking sees Switzerland as the leader (36,37 Mbps), followed by Slovenia with 25,42 Mbps, Austria with 21,97 Mbps, Italy with 16,43 Mbps and France with 15,95 Mbps.
The number for Switzerland is not particularly surprising: in fact, 5G coverage has reached 96% of the population and the faster 5G version is already active in more than 500 locations.
5G: the fastest operators in Italy
The research carried out by Ookla It also allowed us to compare data relating to speeds recorded by the different operators present in the Italian market.
The analysis showed that the best result in average download speed in 5G was recorded by XNUMXG customers. TIM, with an average of 282,94 Mbps.
