Dia do macarrão: Brasil é o terceiro maior consumidor

Macarrão: um dos pratos prediletos do brasileiro.
Alimento é um dos pratos prediletos do brasileiro. Fettuccine, spaghetti, conchiglione… Qual é o mais gostoso?

Você sabia que o Brasil é o terceiro maior consumidor de macarrão, ficando atrás apenas da Itália e dos Estados Unidos? Só em 2013, foi consumida cerca de 1,2 milhão de toneladas de massa no país. O ingrediente agrada tanto que, em 2014, ganhou uma data especial no calendário, o dia [tooltip hint=”O Dia Mundial do Macarrão foi criado em 1995″]Mundial do Macarrão[/tooltip]. E para celebrar, vale escolher uma opção do prato, ou mais, dependendo do apetite.

O alimento, que consiste basicamente em água e farinha de trigo, pode ser produzido de diferentes formas: com sêmola, grano duro e farinha integral, ou com ingredientes como ovos e verduras, que dão origem aos apreciados espaguete, fettuccine, talharim e linguine, entre outros. A massa combina bem com carnes vermelhas, peixe, frutos do mar ou simplesmente com molhos como bolonhesa ou gorgonzola.

Comemoração

O Dia Mundial do Macarrão foi criado em 1995, durante o I World Pasta Congress (Congresso Mundial de Macarrão), realizado em Roma, que reuniu os principais fabricantes do mundo. Desde então, a data é comemorada em diversos países, com o objetivo de difundir os benefícios do macarrão e aumentar o consumo per capita.

O Brasil é o 3º consumidor de macarrão no mundo em volume, perdendo para a Itália e Estados Unidos. Encontramos aqui 60 tipos diferentes de macarrão. Os quatro mais consumidos são o espaguete, o fusilli, lasanha e talharim.
