In addition to the traditional tourist route, users will enjoy typical Italian attractions
How about going back in time and seeing a little piece of Italy in São Paulo aboard a tourist train? On August 25th, another trip will take place on the “Italian Train”, a special edition of CPTM’s Tourist Express, heading to the city of Jundiaí (60 km from the capital), which preserves many of the customs and architecture brought by Italian immigrants.
The tour is done aboard a locomotive made up of two stainless steel cars manufactured in Brazil in the 1960s, provided by ABPF (Brazilian Railway Preservation Association).
In addition to the conventional route, users will have music performances on board, storytelling, curiosities about Italian immigration in Brazil and a relaxed chat about the country.
The train leaves Estação da Luz, at 7:45 am, heading to Jundiaí. Lasting 1h30, the route takes place along the current Line 7-Rubi, the first railway established in 1867 by the former São Paulo Railway.

On the return, the train leaves Jundiaí heading to São Paulo at 16:30 pm, arriving at Estação da Luz at 18 pm. The unit ticket price is R$50 (round trip). It is worth highlighting the possibility of discounts of up to 25% when purchasing up to three tickets for companions.

The program explores the influence of Italian immigration present in the railway and the Fruit Circuit region, in addition to including visits to a winery, cantina, historic farm and restaurants with homemade food, and participation in the traditional grape stomping, to the sound of Italian songs and tarantellas.
The CPTM ticket only covers the round trip. Those interested in the complementary itinerary must purchase the package sold separately by Rizzatour de Turismo, which includes a tour guide, tour tickets, wine tasting and lunch. The package will not be sold on the day of travel and the Advance purchase can be made online. The cost is R$254 per person.
