3,8 magnitude earthquake hits Veneto and Friuli

According to INGV, the earthquake was felt throughout the territory of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, from Udine to Trieste, and in most of Veneto.

Despite the panic, there are no reports of casualties or damage

An earthquake measuring 3,8 on the Richter scale was recorded this Sunday afternoon (22) in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, province of Udine. So far, there are no reports of casualties or damage.

The epicenter was located in Tolmezzo, at a depth of 13,3 km, as reported by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV). The tremor caused panic among the population and numerous calls were made to the emergency services. Civil Defense and firefighters carry out some inspections.

According to INGV, the earthquake was felt throughout the territory of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, from Udine to Trieste, and in most of Veneto.

In 1976, the province of Udine was marked by a terrible earthquake. On May 6 of that year, 982 lost their lives and the homeless numbered around 60 people. The earthquake reached 000 on the Richter scale.
