Os Brazilians residing in Italy And in Portugal they have until the 6th of May to regularize voter registration status. The date is the deadline set by the Electoral Court for those who wish to participate in the 2026 elections, scheduled for October.
Regularization includes transferring your electoral domicile abroad, updating your information, or issuing your first voter registration card. This procedure is mandatory to maintain a valid CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID) and for essential services such as renewing your Brazilian passport.
The process is carried out entirely online through the system of Self-service for voters on the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) website.There is no need to appear in person at the consulates in Rome, Milan, Lisbon, Porto or Faro for this step.
To request regularization, voters must attach Brazilian identification documents, proof of residence abroad, and a selfie holding their identity document. Unlike in Brazil, biometrics are not required for voters registered in Brazil. Overseas Electoral Zone (ZZ).
Portugal remains one of the main voting hubs outside of Brazil, with Lisbon leading as the largest Brazilian electoral college in Europe. In Italy, the Brazilian community is also showing steady growth, with polling stations concentrated in Milan and Rome.

In the 2026 elections, Brazilians residing abroad will vote exclusively for the positions of president and vice-president of the Republic.
The current political landscape indicates a polarized contest between the president's reelection bid. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the senator's candidacy Flávio Bolsonaro.
