Driving Precautions in Winter

If you choose to rent a car, extra caution is advised. Mountain roads require winter tires or snow chains. (catene on board), which are mandatory by law in several regions of Italy between November and April.

Ice on the road, often invisible, is the biggest risk. For those without experience driving in snow, public transport or private transfer services are the safest options.
