The city of Naples has been named the best in the world for food, according to the 2025 edition of the ranking by the TasteAtlas platform, which specializes in gastronomy. With a score of 4,99 out of 5, the city leads the list based on millions of user reviews of typical dishes and... authentic culinary experiences.
At the top of the ranking, Naples stood out for its strong gastronomic tradition, with dishes such as pizza, fritti, buffalo mozzarella, ragù, sfogliatella, and babà. The platform defined these foods as "the essence of Mediterranean conviviality and simplicity elevated to excellence."
Italian dominance also extends to second and third place, with Milan (4,99) and Bologna (4,98). Florence appears in fourth position (4,89), while Rome is in ninth place, with 4,74. In total, 21 Italian cities were listed among the 100 best in the world for food, more than any other country.
