The protagonist is Aidan Turner in the role of the Renaissance genius, with Matilda De Angelis (Caterina da Cremona), Giancarlo Giannini (Andrea del Verrocchio).
Created by Frank Spotnitz (“The Man in the High Castle”) and Steve Thompson (screenwriter of “Doctor Who”), “Leonardo” aims to unravel the mystery of one of the greatest geniuses in history, whose work is known worldwide, but of whom little if you really know.
Set at the end of the 15th century, the plot finds Leonardo Da Vinci accused of murder and placed under the surveillance of a police officer, who tries to unearth the painter's past to connect him to the investigation.
This is how the lonely childhood of the illegitimate son of a notary in the rural Tuscan town of Vinci comes into focus, revealing why he developed a relentless, almost superhuman desire to search and discover everything that could make sense of the world around him. around you.
