The American presenter J, from ABC, revealed that he had recognized his Italian citizenship. The statement was made during participation in the The Sarah Silverman Podcast.
Kimmel, a longtime critic of Donald Trump, confirmed his dual citizenship
after comments from the former president about the possible cancellation of his program.
The Italian news agency Ansa reported that the Italian citizenship was agreed this year,
after proof of Italian ancestry — his father's side comes from Ischia, an island off the coast of Naples, in the region of campania.
The 56-year-old presenter hosts the Jimmy Kimmel Live! at ABC for 22 years, with a contract until 2026.

The rivalry between Kimmel and Trump intensified in 2024, when the host mocked the former president's messages during the Oscars ceremony, calling him “Commander-In-Thief" (pun on “commander of the corrupt forces”) and other critical nicknames.
