Itália no Box, a franchise chain specializing in Italian cuisine, has announced an investment of R$5 million to open five of its own stores in Portugal by the end of 2025. The new units will be located in Lisbon, Porto, Aveiro, Viseu and Coimbra.

The expansion into Portugal is part of the brand's internationalization strategy, which also has plans for the United States. The goal is to open 30 international units in the next three years.

“Our entry into the Portuguese market represents a significant milestone for the brand. We are excited to bring our family recipes, which combine Italian cuisine with a Brazilian touch, to new consumers,” says Gabriel Alberti, partner for Italy at Box.

The popularity of Italian culinary facilitates the acceptance of the franchise in foreign markets, requiring few adaptations to the menu. To ensure the success of the strategy, the company has invested in consultancies specialized in the local market.

About a company

Founded in 2016 by Gabriel Alberti, Itália no Box was created with the goal of offering quality Italian pasta at affordable prices. With over 30 options on the menu, including classic pasta, executive dishes, salads and desserts, the brand entered franchising in 2018 and is now present in 70 cities and 18 states in Brazil. In 2023, 30 new stores were opened, using 40 tons of pasta and reaching a revenue of R$ 70 million.
