Fire hits the Italian Society building in Porto Alegre

The flames were quickly controlled by firefighters and no one was injured.

A fire hit the Italian Society Massolin de Fiori on Friday night. The accident happened around 20pm and affected the attic of the place. According to the Fire Department, there was no one in the building at the time of the fire.

The flames were quickly controlled by two fire engines and did not cause any major damage. According to the officers who responded to the incident, this is the second fire in the building in the last six months. The expert will assess the causes. The Fire Prevention and Protection Plan (PPCI) is up to date.

It is also known for the Italian language and culture courses it offers. Each semester, around 300 students attend the society.
