The startup La Orange, based in Verona, northern Italy, created the DeQou Action Beer, One beer designed for rugby players and other sportspeople, such as cycling, triathlon, marathon, among others.
According to the company, the drink combines the pleasure of craft beer with the benefits of a sports drink because it is low in alcohol, low in calories, but rich in magnesium, potassium and maltodextrin, which help with energy recovery.
“Beer, also called 'liquid bread' due to the richness of trace elements, is often used to integrate and reintegrate mineral salts and energies in an extremely pleasant way”, says the company in a note.
“The beer has a low alcohol content (3,5%), double the maltodextrin of a normal beer, is extremely satiating, is not filtered or pasteurized and is naturally rich in trace elements and mineral salts (magnesium and potassium)”, he adds.
