Low-income families in Italy can enjoy some of the bonuses offered by INPS, the National Institute of Social Security.
It is enough for the family to fit into the income ranges indicated in the ISEE, which Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator.
Among the bonuses are Baby Bonus and Nursery Bonus, for example. Both for those with children. But there is still the Social Card and Citizenship Income.

What is ISEE in Italy
The ISEE is nothing more than the Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator. It serves to offer an assessment of a family's economic situation and to be able to compare it.
The ISEE can be requested through the DSU, the Single Substitute Declaration, completed in advance.
O DSU It is nothing more than a document that includes information self-declared by the citizen and pre-filled data.
This data is provided by IRS (a Inland Revenue) to INPS. Both of them, DSU e ISEE are useful for citizens applying for subsidized social benefits.
Italian INPS, how it works

The data contained in this document are, in part, data self-declared by the citizen, in part data provided by the Inland Revenue, the total revenue for the purposes of the PIT (Individual Income Tax), in part, provided by INPS.

How the Baby Bonus works in Italy
O Baby Bonus, or birth check, is paid monthly. The subsidy is intended for families and refers to each child born, adopted or in an orphanage – in pre-adoptive conditions.
This subsidy is paid monthly by the INPS, until the baby's first year of age or the first year of entry into the family after adoption or pre-adoptive foster care.
The Baby Bonus can be requested by citizens of Italy, the European Union or other countries who have a residence permit in Italy.
Baby Bonus: when to request
The application must be submitted within 90 days of the child's birth or entry into the family. If the assignment is temporary, the request must be submitted to the INPS by the assignee within 90 days from the date of issuance of the provision of social services, then requested through a guardianship judge.
Nursery Bonus, or Daycare Bonus
O Nursery Bonus, or Bônus Creche (in Portuguese), made available by INPS It is a contribution to the cost of public and private daycare centers, or home care for children under three years of age with serious illnesses.
The Bonus is paid directly by the INPS, upon specific request from parents.
In 2016, the check had a maximum value of €1.000. With the 2018 changes, the value rose to €1.500 per year, but since 2019, the value has reached a maximum of €3, based on the ISEE for families with lower incomes.
Bonus for Nursery School, the numbers
To request the bonus, an ISEE certificate updated for the current year is required. For families presenting an ISEE certificate worth less than €25 per year, the Bonus paid will be in full: €3.
The subsidy will decrease to €2.500 for families who submitted an ISEE between €25.001 and €40.000.
The minimum €1.500 per year will then be awarded to families with an ISEE that exceeds the €40.000 threshold.

The bonus application can be submitted online at INPS, on the dedicated page (HERE).

The Inps Social Card
O common shopping card is an electronic payment card. Citizens in situations of economic difficulty can use it. Every two months an amount of € 80,00 on the social card, based on available funds.

Inps, who can request the social card?
To apply for a social card, you must have Italian citizenship or belong to a member country of the European Union.
The program extends to citizens without nationality of one of the EU Member States, but with regularized residence in Italy.
The social card applicant must be a citizen duly registered in the Resident Population Register (Registry of the Resident Population).
Inps, how does the card work?
In addition to paying for groceries and bills, the holder of the Social Card is granted, as determined by the Ministry of Economy and Finance to 5% discount when shopping at partner stores and pharmacies.
Inps, Citizenship Income
If you have a low income indicated in the ISEE, you can also sign up for INPS Citizenship Income, Basic income.
Introduced by Decree-Law of January 28, 2019, the Citizenship Income aims to combat poverty, reintegration into the job market and social inclusion.
If all members of the household are 67 years old or over, or if the household also has people under 67 years of age who are severely disabled or not self-sufficient, it is called “Citizenship Pension"
In both cases, the benefit is granted through an electronic payment card, the Citizenship Income Card, and can reach €9.360.
We remember that the Citizenship Income starts from the month following the submission of the application and is paid for a period maximum 18 months. After this period, after the suspension of one month, a new request to receive income may be made.

The rules of Citizenship Income
The beneficiaries of Citizenship Income they must be available for projects useful to the community in the areas of culture, artistic activities, the environment and the protection and conservation of common goods.
In other words, it is mandatory to work for the municipality. Anyone who does not comply with the standard loses the benefit.
Additionally, the program requires beneficiaries of Italy's “Bolsa Família” to register on a job platform, and the first job offer within 12 months can be within a radius of 100 kilometers from their residence; the second, within a radius of 250 kilometers; and the third, throughout Italy.
Anyone who rejects three proposals in a row loses the bonus in Italy.
