In the heart of Italy, hidden in a beautiful valley between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea, lies a small town known for an unusual characteristic: it is the ugly people capital of the world.

piobbico, in the region of Brands, in central-western Italy, is home to the Club Dei Brutti (Clube dos feios, in free translation), an association that celebrates inner beauty and challenges traditional beauty standards.

The club was founded in 1879 to help the city's single women find husbands. At the time, physical beauty was considered a prerequisite for marriage, and women who were not considered beautiful had little chance of finding a partner.

O Club Dei Brutti It quickly became a social movement, promoting acceptance of people of all appearances. Today, the association has more than 30.000 members worldwide, however, the city has less than 2.000 inhabitants.

Each year, Piobbico hosts the Brutti Festival, an event that brings together people from all over the world to celebrate inner beauty. The festival includes an election for the club's new president, as well as a variety of activities and events, such as music, dance, and food.

O Brutti Festival is a celebration of diversity and acceptance. It is a reminder that beauty is not on the outside, but on the inside.
