Family heritage and talent in our veins

Buddy's connection with confectionery goes back to his Italian origins. His father, from Lipari in Sicily, and his mother, from Altamura in Puglia, brought the traditions of Italian sweets with them to the United States. Buddy followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and great-grandfather, both pastry chefs in Sicily, and grew up surrounded by the aroma of cakes, pies and cannoli.

From childhood to leadership

At age 11, Buddy was already at Carlo's Bakery, the family bakery. In 1994, after his father passed away, he took over the family business. His dedication led him to improve traditional techniques and explore new horizons, such as creating sugar paste cakes, also known as fondant.

Television success and legacy

“The Cake Boss” became a television phenomenon. Through the reality show, Buddy Valastro shared his day-to-day life at the store, his time with his family and the creation of impressive cakes, many of which are true works of art. His fame expanded and he opened 17 bakeries, including units in São Paulo.
