Italy once again required a negative Covid-19 test for all people arriving from European Union (EU) countries.
Unvaccinated visitors, in addition to testing, must comply with a five-day quarantine.
For travelers departing from Brazil, The previous rule continues to apply: is only allowed for specific reasons:
- Job;
- Health;
- Study;
- Absolute urgency;
- Return to your home, house or residence.
To Brazil It is not possible to enter Italy for tourism reasons.
The measure comes into force from this Thursday (16), and lasts until January 31.
The purpose of the Italian Government is to protect Christmas, at a time when the country is experiencing a new wave of the pandemic, with an average of more than 20 thousand new daily cases.
Italy has extended the current state of emergency until at least March 31 and will exceed two years under this regime.
The new decree allows the Government to make decisions more quickly, but it will also have consequences for citizens.
From now on, the unvaccinated are prevented from carrying out various social activities, such as going to the cinema, theater, bars or restaurants, in addition to traveling by train.
Around 45,9 million Italians have already completed the vaccination schedule against Covid-19, which represents 85,08% of the population aged 12 or over.
Twelve million have already taken the booster dose.
