The Italian businessman Paolo Zampolli, ally of President Donald Trump and special envoy for global affairs, made attacks against Brazilian women. In an interview with Italian broadcaster RAIZampolli stated that "Brazilian women are programmed to cause confusion."
The statements were made during a conversation about Zampolli's relationship with Brazilian model Amanda Ungaro. The couple were together for almost 20 years and have a 15-year-old son. Currently, they are both disputing custody of the teenager in the United States courts.
When asked by the reporter if the cited behavior was genetic, the advisor reinforced his position. Zampolli stated that women in Brazil are "programmed" for conflict. The journalist even asked if the objective was extortion, but the businessman denied it, repeating the term "confusion."
At another point in the interview, Trump's ally directed insults at a friend of his ex-wife. "She's one of those Brazilian whores, that damned breed of Brazilian women, they're all the same," he declared. He also used other offensive terms to describe the woman.
The newspaper “The New York Times” recently published that Zampolli allegedly used political influence to deport Amanda Ungaro. The model was arrested in Miami for alleged workplace fraud in June 2025.
Records indicate that the businessman contacted Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after his ex-wife's arrest. He allegedly suggested she was in the country illegally and requested her transfer to a federal detention facility.
Amanda's defense team believes that Zampolli's close ties to the White House were a determining factor in her expulsion from the United States. She currently resides in Brazil and claims that her ex-husband promised her immigration stability during their marriage.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security denied any political favoritism in the case. In an official statement, the agency stated that the deportation occurred because Amanda's visa had expired. The American government classified the claim of political persecution as false.
