The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs this week launched a portal to promote the Italian language, culture and creativity around the world.
Available in Italian and English, the platform is organized into three sections (culture and creativity; language and education; and opportunities) and brings together a series of content celebrating the “vivere all'italiana"(live in Italian).
The website, called “Italiana”, presents all the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' cultural network, such as the 82 Italian Institutes of Culture and language schools spread around the world, in addition to the country's attractions listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In addition, the portal will offer jazz concerts, musical podcasts, theater and dance shows, documentaries, interviews and special articles. The initiative also includes a newsletter and a video channel on Vimeo.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luigi Di Maio, the objective of the project is “to support the art and creativity industry and respond to the demand for Italy in the world”. “It will be an extraordinary showcase for promoting Italy abroad and will interact with the entire digital system of Italian culture,” he explained.
Among the highlights of this year's programming are content related to 700 years since the death of Dante Alighieri, the “father” of the Italian language, celebrated on September 14th. The site also offers useful information for those who want to study in Italy.
