Located in Serra da Mantiqueira, 150 km from São Paulo, Serra Negra (SP) sought inspiration in the “eternal city” to boost tourism.
With strong ties to the Italian community, the city hall invested R$ 1,6 million – according to G1 – in the construction of a replica of “Trevi Fountain", icon of Rome."
The work that is in its final stages is already attracting the attention of the population and tourists, who take great care of the photos and videos.

It occupies an area of 370 m² and is 11 meters high, from the water mirror, and 20,7 meters wide. Despite the cold weather and rain on a mid-week afternoon, many people, residents and tourists, stopped to observe the “monument”.
The Supreme Court reaffirmed: citizenship is born with the person.
- New legal front opened
- Processes can still be filed.
- Individual assessment before any decision.

“People now come to Serra Negra and say they went to Italy. The trip will become famous,” jokes José Zeferino, 80 years old, owner of a newspaper stand next to the “Fontana caipira” for more than five decades.
According to him, the expectation is for an increase in the flow of people on the street, already famous for the Fonte dos Italianos, which offers quality water to visitors, free of charge. “There are people taking photos all day long,” he warns.

The original Trevi Fountain, inaugurated in 1735, is a work by Nicola Salvi, based on a design by Bernini, and has become the most celebrated fountain in Rome and one of the most famous and photographed in the world. It is 26 meters high and 20 meters wide.
