About mixes popular songs with opera, in addition to warming up the public for the album “Sí”, to be released in October
Moving between pop music and the lyrical repertoire, a combination that has already brought success to great artists, the Italian Andrea Bocelli has become one of the most celebrated and beloved tenors in the world. This phenomenon will perform for the first time in Porto Alegre this Sunday at 20 pm, in a concert full of guests at the Beira-Rio Stadium. It will be the beginning of a Brazilian tour that will also pass through Brasília (on the 26th) and São Paulo (on the 29th and 30th).
With musical direction by maestro Eugene Kohn, who worked for decades with Plácido Domingo, the performance in Porto Alegre will have a first part dedicated to well-known opera arias and a second part with popular songs. It is confirmed, among others, Con Te Partiro e 'O Sole Mio. In the second stage, singer Maria Rita will perform an unprecedented partnership with the tenor.
Among the international participants will be soprano Larisa Martinez and the CARisMA Guitar Duo (formed by classical guitarists Magdalena Kaltcheva and Carlo Corrieri). Bocelli will be accompanied by 60 musicians aged between 14 and 25 from the Heliópolis Youth Orchestra, maintained by the Baccarelli Institute, which carries out social inclusion work through music in São Paulo. The opening show, starting at 19 pm, will feature the accordionist Paulinho Cardoso from Rio Grande do Sul.

Successful career
Blind since the age of 12, when a football hit the head of the boy whose vision was already impaired by glaucoma, Bocelli graduated in Law from the University of Pisa, but abandoned his legal career to dedicate himself to singing.

In the early 1990s, the then little-known Bocelli was invited by Zucchero to record a demo version of Wretched.
The pop star's intention was to use the tape to invite supertenor Luciano Pavarotti to a duet, which in fact happened (on the 1992 album that bears the song's name), but Boccelli ended up embarking on a European tour with Zucchero playing the part. by Pavarotti — who in turn began to admire the young tenor.
Wretched appeared on Bocelli's first album, Il Mare Calmo Della Sera, from 1994. The second album, the following year, brought another success: Con Te Partiro, which was later released as a duet with Sarah Brightman as Time to Say Goodbye. Fame in the United States was sealed in 1997, with the album Romanza, which brought together songs from previous works, leaving a balance of more than 15 million copies sold worldwide. Dream, from 1999, brought The Prayer, a duet with Céline Dion at the height of her fame (two years earlier, she had achieved resounding success with My Heart Will Go On, theme of the film Titanic).
At the same time, Bocelli left behind a rich discography focused on the lyrical repertoire, having recorded under the baton of some of the most prestigious maestros in the world, such as Zubin Mehta (who worked with the Three Tenors), Valery Gergiev and Fabio Luisi. In his discography, there are Aida, by Verdi; Turandot, by Puccini; and Carmen, by Bizet, among other operas.
On October 26th, Bocelli will launch Yes, the first album of new songs in 14 years, produced by Bob Ezrin (the same as The Wall, by Pink Floyd). The first single, If Only, was released in English, Italian and Spanish.
