the federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) told CNN that he is going to Italy and, because he has Italian citizenship, cannot be deported. “I have Italian citizenship and they can't deport me,” he declared.
On Tuesday (3), Zambelli reported that he left Brazil. In an interview with Auri Green Radio, the parliamentarian said that she will request leave from her mandate.
Despite having initially said that he would already be in Italy, the deputy's husband corrected the information. According to him, the couple is in United States and will head to Italy in the next few days.
Zambelli was sentenced in May by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to ten years in prison for her involvement in the hacking of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) system. The decision provides for a closed regime, loss of mandate and ineligibility, in addition to compensation of R$2 million.
Another ongoing case at the Supreme Federal Court is investigating the deputy for illegal possession of a weapon and illegal coercion. The trial was interrupted at the request of Minister Nunes Marques.

Zambelli also stated that she received information that Minister Alexandre de Moraes would not authorize house arrest. “He would put me in jail and leave me in jail,” she told CNN. According to her, her departure from Brazil is a form of “resistance”, and not an escape.
She also said that she intends to work in several countries, including Spain, Portugal, England, France and Italy. “I want to be in the main places, to speak to the French people. In each place we have people who can fight for us,” she declared.
Before leaving Brazil, Zambelli emancipated his 17-year-old son so that he could run in the 2026 elections, and delegated the management of his social media to his mother, Rita Zambelli.
