The demonstration came in response to a post by Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, who called for the unity of “defenders of freedom and democracy” against alleged tyranny.
Federal Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro also commented on Salvini's message. Investigated on suspicion of negotiating lawsuits against Brazil with the US government, Eduardo thanked him for his support: "Thank you for your words, Salvini. You too have been a victim of this 'lawfare' in the Italian courts simply for doing the right thing for your people."
The congressman was referring to a case facing the Italian, who was acquitted of kidnapping charges for preventing the disembarkation of a ship carrying migrants in 2019.
