The historic city of Naples, located in southern Italy, is set to celebrate its 2.500th anniversary throughout 2025.
As part of the celebration, the capital of the Campania region will host a series of special events that promise to liven up the famous “land of pizza” throughout the coming year.
This Thursday (19), the official logo of the festivities was revealed, designed by the young designer Rita Zunno, winner of a local competition.
The logo uses the colors yellow and red, which symbolize the Neapolitan territory, and gives the number 2.500 cultural and historical meanings. Each element of the number was designed to represent iconic aspects of the city.
- The number 2 alludes to Naples' rich cultural heritage.
- The number 5 evokes the sea and the mermaid Partenope, a mythological figure who, according to legend, gave rise to the city.
- The first 0 symbolizes the Castle of Ovo, the oldest fortress in Naples.
- The second 0 it can represent both the arch, a recurring element in Neapolitan architecture, and an open window to the future.

With a creative and meaningful design, the logo reflects the essence of Naples, while celebrating its long and rich history while projecting hope and innovation for the coming millennia.
The city is preparing for a year of celebrations and tributes, promising to attract visitors from all over the world to discover and experience the unique culture and charm of Naples.
