Italian authorities have implemented a strict security plan in Rome for the visit of the Ukrainian president. Volodymyr Zelensky, this weekend.

To avoid threats to Zelensky's safety, Rome police implemented a security plan that includes closing the airspace and banning drones.
In addition, security forces will use bomb disposal squads, helicopters and snipers, as well as the carabinieri anti-terrorism unit. Police will also reinforce controls at railway stations, airports and highways.
In recent months, Zelensky has visited several of Ukraine's Western allies, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Finland and the Netherlands, but this will be his first trip to Italy since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24, 2022.
