One of the world's most renowned institutions for live performances, the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, in Milan, Italy, is accepting applications for the two-year advanced course for lyrical singers, and for the one-year Global Master in Performing Arts Management.
Both institutions offer scholarships for foreign students through the Italian government, according to information released by the Italian Consulate General in São Paulo.
Registration for the singing course closes on April 9th. Among the requirements, applicants must provide proof of training in the field through an academic diploma issued by a recognized music conservatory or music institute.
In the case of studies in private schools or with private teachers, the person responsible for the course must issue a declaration to the candidate.
For approved opera singers, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Maeci) will offer up to 10 scholarships to foreigners for a period of nine months starting from January 1, 2026.
For the Global Master in Performing Arts Management, applications are open until October 1, 2025 for citizens of the European Union and until September 17 of this year for those from other countries. In this case, candidates cannot be over 35 years of age. In addition, those who do not have an academic background must prove professional experience of between three and five years in any sector.
For this course, Maeci will offer up to nine scholarships to foreigners for six months starting January 1, 2026. According to information from the consulate on its social media, there are also “three scholarships offered by the 'Gianluca Spina' association of the Polytechnic of Milan, aimed at outstanding students” of the master's degree.
