Singer Damiano David, lead singer of Maneskin, paid tribute last Wednesday (12) to composer Lucio Dalla, who died in 2012, on the stage of the Sanremo Festival, the biggest music competition in Italy.
In an emotional performance at the Teatro Ariston, the artist, who was wearing an elegant black suit and gloves, officially opened the second night of the event by singing the track “Felicità”, one of the Bolognese musician's greatest hits.
During Damiano’s performance, the screen went black and white, surprising viewers. At the end, the singer broke the tension by smiling and saying: “Mamma mia, thank you!”
Actor Alessandro Borghi, winner of the David di Donatello award in 2019, and his little nephew Vittorio Bonvicini, who cried at the end of the performance, accompanied Damiano on stage during the show.
“I have to thank Damiano for giving me the opportunity to witness his incredible talent live. We also wanted Vittorio to be there, because he is the right person to represent the transition from a state of drowsiness to the pursuit of happiness. It’s a song dedicated to young people,” Borghi declared.
Another highlight of the second day of the 2025 edition of Sanremo was the presence of model Bianca Balti, who presented the competition alongside Carlo Conti, the event's artistic director. The 40-year-old Italian has been battling ovarian cancer since September. (HANDLE)
