Naples, Milan, and Bologna occupy the top three spots on the new list released by Taste Atlas, an international gastronomy portal. The ranking was published in October and considers more than 477 verified reviews of local dishes and products.
The capital of Campania took first place, being the only city to achieve a perfect score of five out of five. The analysis highlighted the global popularity of margherita pizza, sfogliatella, gnocchi alla sorrentina, spaghetti con vongole, and zeppole.

Milano came in second place with a score of 4,96. Recognition came for risotto alla milanese, cotoletta, cassoeula—a typical winter dish—and panettone, a traditional Christmas dessert.
Bologna rounds out the podium with 4,94 points. The classics of Emilian cuisine were decisive: tagliatelle al ragù, tortellini in brodo, lasagna, cotoletta alla bolognese, and crescentina.

Other Italian cities among the top ten
Besides dominating the top three positions, other Italian cities feature in the top 10. Florence is in fourth place, Rome in sixth, and Turin in ninth.
Last year, Rome was the champion of the same survey, followed by Bologna and Naples. The fall of the Italian capital is noteworthy, but it still maintains a strong presence among the best cities for food in the world.
