The list of Eric Asimov, famous gastronomic critic of New York Times, is back, illustrating the twenty best wines under 20 dollars – just over R$100 – this winter in the northern hemisphere.
A list drawn up with difficulty, as he himself explained: “Inflation may have decreased in recent months, but store wine shelves show no evidence of this reduction".
That's why in the selection we will also find labels that are less known to the general public, but which can hold good surprises. Let's see them together.
3 Italian wines
1. Brigaldara Valpolicella 2021

Brigaldara Valpolicella area (Veneto) is the first Italian to appear on the list. It is defined by Asimov as “pure, with floral aromas and sweet cherry flavors that resolve with a refreshing bitterness”. The critic recommends perfect harmonization, in his opinion: pizza and Valpolicella. Price: $15,99.
2. Jordan Lombard Gavi 2021

Asimov describes him as a “ energetic white”, made with organically grown Cortese grapes. “It has all the vivacity you would expect from a Gavi, with the added advantage of lemon flavor.” To combine with all types of seafood. Price: $18,99.
3. Jasci Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 2021

"Jasci is part of a growing number of small producers who have transformed the Abruzzo in a great source of wines that excite”, says the New York Times. This wine is made from grapes Trebbiano high quality, organically grown and raised in elevated pergolas. “Clear, pure, structured and refreshing wine”, describes Asimov. Price: 19 dollars.
