The billionaire Elon Musk, owner of the companies SpaceX, Tesla and X, denied that he has any kind of “romantic relationship” with the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni.

The statement comes amid the spread of memes on social media based on photos showing the businessman and the prime minister sitting side by side during the “Global Citizen Award 2024”, held annually by the Atlantic Council on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

In this ocasion, Meloni received the award from Musk for being the first woman to govern Italy, as well as for her support for the European Union and transatlantic relations.

“I was there with my mother. There is no romantic relationship with Prime Minister Meloni,” the billionaire wrote on X, in response to a post with a photo of the two, under the caption: “We all know what happened next…”.

The Italian Prime Minister has been separated from Andrea Giambruno since last year.
