The town of Dish, in TuscanyItaly will host the event on April 27th. Italy-Latin America Economic ForumThe event aims to promote international dialogue and create business opportunities between Italian companies and Latin American countries.
The organization of the meeting is the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in conjunction with the ICE agency and IILA. Activities begin at the Textile Museum with thematic panels and presentations on the Latin American market.
O deputy Fabio Porta confirmed attendance at the event, which will bring together political and business leaders.
“This event is very important because it is the first under the new Secretary-General Giorgio Silli, who is showing great interest in continuing the work that Donato di Santo and Antonella Cavallari previously carried out while leading the IILA,” the parliamentarian stated.
The congressman emphasized that the forum coincides with the implementation of the trade agreement between the European bloc and Mercosur. "This event falls at a strategic moment, at the beginning of the European Union-Mercosur agreement, which will be implemented starting in May," said Porta.
The parliamentarian's analysis points to the region's relevance in the face of the global conflict scenario. "In an international situation where, due to crises in the Middle East and other regions in Eastern Europe, Mercosur and Latin America, in general, become an increasingly important place for the development of commercial partnerships, and not only commercial ones," he stated.
Porta also emphasized the role of the Italian diaspora in strengthening these ties. "And of course, in all of this, the presence of Italian communities in this region constitutes a great opportunity for us, especially Italians in Brazil," the congressman concluded.
The morning program at the Forum includes B2B meetings between companies and stakeholders, as well as dedicated networking opportunities. The goal is to facilitate direct partnerships between participants from both markets.
In the afternoon, the proceedings move to the Metastasio Theatre. A plenary session will be held with institutional representatives from Italy, Europe, and Latin America to discuss economic and trade cooperation.
The forum will pay special attention to the EU-Mercosur Agreement. The treaty enters into force on May 1st and should open new prospects for Italian exports.
The event prioritizes four main productive sectors: mechanics, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, agribusiness, and the clothing and footwear segment.
