Practically two years after the tragedy, Genoa reopens today the crossing over the Polcevera River, interrupted since the morning of August 14, 2018, when a 210 meter long part of the old Morandi Bridge fell, killing 43.
The new bridge will be called “Genoa San Giorgio”, one of the symbols of the city, which is the capital of the Liguria region.

The inauguration ceremony, scheduled to take place at 18:30 p.m. (13:30 p.m. Brasília time), is expected to be attended by Italian President Sergio Mattarella. But the association representing the victims' families decided not to attend.
