Young people in Rome who turned or will turn 18 in 2024 will receive free admission to the city's public museums for one year.
The Executive of the 'Eternal City' approved a resolution to present new adults with the Roma Mic Card, which allows entry to all museums and archaeological and monumental areas managed by the Capitoline Superintendency of Cultural Heritage, and which also offers benefits and discounts on exhibitions, cafes and museum bookstores.
In total, the target audience is estimated at 41 thousand people. The validity of the card will start counting from activation on the website https://miccard.roma.it/ or in the Mic Card app.
In the coming weeks, a communication campaign will send young beneficiaries a letter from the mayor, Roberto Gualtieri, containing a QR code that will lead to the procedures to obtain the card.
Soon, the benefit should be extended to cities in the metropolitan region.
The objective is to encourage young people to take advantage of the capital's immense heritage, becoming an increasingly active part of the city's cultural life.
“Young people are the future of our city and we are investing in them. We are putting them at the center of all our policies: from public transport, where we launched a free measure for all boys and girls under 19, to the opening of new study rooms”, said the mayor.
