Comites-RS holds a meeting of the Italian community on September 16th

The program deals with topics related to the routine of Italian citizens and will feature a lecture by the Consul General of Italy, Valerio Caruso

The Committee of Italians Abroad (COMITES-RS) will promote on September 16th the Meeting of the Italian Community of Rio Grande do Sul, in the Plenary of the Legislative Assembly, in Porto Alegre.

The event will bring together members of the Italian-Gaúcha community and authorities to discuss topics relevant to the daily lives of Italian citizens, in addition to starting preparations for the celebrations of 150 years of Italian immigration in the state, which will be celebrated in 2025.

The program includes panels on the rights and duties of Italian citizens, the planning of the sesquicentennial festivities, and a lecture by the Consul General of Italy, Valerio Caruso, who will speak about the new management model and the future headquarters of the Consulate.

Registration, open to the public from September 1st, has a symbolic cost of R$ 20,00, donated to the “Recupera Muçum” Project.

The event is an opportunity to strengthen cultural ties and discuss the future of the Italian community in Rio Grande do Sul.

9am: Accreditation

10am: Opening lecture: What is COMITES and what is CGIE. Work with the Italian community, with Cristina Mioranza, president, and Rosária Anele, vice-president of COMITES-RS, and CGIE advisor, Stephania Puton.

11:00 AM: Panel 1. Rights and duties of Italian citizens: AIRE (Registry of Italians Residing Abroad), passport, civil registration, registration of children, deaths, marital status, address. Speakers: members of COMITES-RS (Commission for the Integration of Italians Residing Abroad of Rio Grande do Sul) Stephania Puton and Neiva Cantarelli.

12pm: Free lunch

14pm: Panel 2. 150 Years of Italian Immigration: Guidelines and Map of Events in RS. Speaker: Isadora Aquini.

15pm: Panel 3. Brazil-Italy Parliamentary Front. Speaker: state deputy Guilherme Pasin.

15:40 pm: Panel 4. The 150 Years of Italian Immigration and the Reconstruction of RS. Speaker: Secretary of Justice, Citizenship and Human Rights of RS, Fabrício Guazzelli Peruchin. There will also be a presentation by the State Commission for 150 Years of Italian Immigration.

16pm: Panel 5. The new management model and presentation of the new headquarters of the Consulate General of Italy in Porto Alegre. Speaker: Consul General of Italy, Valerio Caruso.

17pm: Space for organized and written questions.
