Celso Portiolli, 55 years old, presenter of the Domingo Legal program on SBT and one of the biggest names on Brazilian television, is yet another Italian-Brazilian prominent in our country.
Son of Italian immigrant Hercílio Portiolli and Dibe Said Yunes Portiolli, Celso is the youngest of 12 brothers and was born on June 1, 1967 in the city of Maringá, Paraná.

Radio and politics
The first steps in career were given when he was still a teenager, in 1984, when he started working in radio stations in Paraná, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo.
In Ponta Porã, city of Mato Grosso do Sul, became an audience leader and director of a local radio station. His popularity was so great in the city that in 1992, at the age of 24, he was elected councilor for the Democratic Labor Party (PDT).

The dream of television
Having great success on the radio, Celso Portiolli never left aside his dream of working on television. To achieve this objective, in 1993 he sent a tape to Silvio Santos with suggestions for pictures for the program. Take Everything for Money, like hidden cameras, for example.
He sent 11 ideas and seven were approved by production, which led the program's team to invite him to be one of the attraction's writers.

Celso Portiolli on the small screen
In 1996, the opportunity arose to command the Pass or Pass, a program that remained on the air until 1998 and returned to the SBT schedule a year later, when it remained until the year 2000.
In 1997, Celso presented another program, called Time of Joy and, the following year, he led his third attraction on the station, called Xaveco.
Celso Portiolli released the CD “É Tempo de Alegria” in 1998 on the Polydor/PolyGram record label, produced by michael sullivan.

Fantasy and Enjoying a Trip
From January 2000, Celso became one of the presenters of the third phase of the program Fantasy fabric, alongside Márcia Goldschmidt, Christina Rocha, Otávio Mesquita and Lu Barsotti. The attraction aired live every Saturday, from 14:15 pm to 19:20 pm.
In July 2001, the program debuted Enjoying a Trip on the Sunday schedule. The program aired on Sunday afternoons for the first few months, then moved to Saturdays, and returned to Sundays until it went off the air in 2002.

Domingo Legal with Celso Portiolli
From 2004 onwards, Celso Portiolli was in charge of other SBT attractions, such as the program Prize Session, in which he interacted with viewers over the phone and gave away cash prizes, and the Fame Code, freshman show with child singers.
Other programs led by the presenter were Charme, Curtindo com Reais, Dating on TV and Seeing is Believing, the latter alongside the journalist Cesar Filho.
In 2009, he returned to radio on Pool Web Radio with a Flash Back program called Interference, which is still on the air. That same year, Celso Portiolli took over the Nice Sunday, a program that he still runs today.

Tribute to father
Celso Portiolli is known for sharing his moments with family and memories on social media, as happened in 2020, when he published a photo of his father, Hercílio Portiolli, with a caption on its tribute.
In the caption, he remembers a conversation in which his father said he created and raised 12 children, broke down and got up a few times, and that he intended to enjoy life a little, as he had already worked too much.
“There was no time, shortly after went away to heaven. He was the most honest guy I knew, he had his word, he was sincere, fair, generous and very playful with those around him. It taught me a lot. Sometimes I remember his manner and think: he would make an excellent entertainer. He didn't see me on TV, but he always respected my love of communication. Your Hercílio, great Father!”, declared Celso.
In 2022, the presenter said in an interview that his father was well off before he died and wanted to share part of his fortune with Celso Portiolli, who refused to receive the money, because he didn't want to spend what he didn't help build.

Moments with mom
Another highlight of social media by Celso Portiolli are the spending time with mom, Mrs. Dibe, 96 years old. In June 2022, he published his mother's reaction upon entering the luxury house she received as a gift from the entertainer. “Very chic, I’m out,” commented Ms. Dibe, amusing her son and his fans.

Family and Italian citizenship
Celso Portiolli is married to the interior designer Suzana Marchi since 1998 and the couple have three children: Pedro Henrique, Luana and Laura.
In 2020, he posted photos of a family trip to Italy and said he was fulfilling his dream of introducing his wife and children to the European country.
At the end of 2021, he published a photo of the entire family holding their Italian passports, celebrating the achievement of the dual citizenship.
Also at the end of 2021, the presenter revealed that he had discovered a small tumor in the bladder, but as the cancer was in its initial stage, it was possible to remove it in surgery.

Italian surname
According to the website Cognomix, the surname Portioli (the second letter L was added in Brazil) originates from the Veneto region and today there are 369 Families with that family name in Italy.
The regions with the highest prevalence of this surname are Lombardia (210), Emilia-Romagna (82) and Veneto (32).
