Naples Court appoints eight judges to speed up Italian citizenship processes.

Known for being one of Italy's most chaotic courts in citizenship matters, the Naples Court has received a significant boost. Eight "honorary" judges from the criminal sector have been appointed to serve temporarily in the 13th Civil Section, which specializes in immigration and recognition of Italian citizenship.

The measure was made official by decree no. 329 of October 6, 2025, as part of an extraordinary plan provided for in article 4 of Decree-Law no. 117/2025. The objective is to alleviate the overload of processes and speed up trials that, until now, faced long delays.

To enable the judges to act immediately, the court began redistributing cases that were under the responsibility of female judges. Ivana Capone e Antonietta De Simone. One of these cases, for example, number 15292/2024, was transferred to Judge Gennaro Zurolo, who has already set the new hearing date for December 9, 2025.

Finally, some great news.
