Italy clarifies entry rules for those vaccinated with Coronavac

Brazilians vaccinated with Coronavac can enter Italy for tourism purposes as long as they have taken a booster shot with one of the vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), such as Pfizer.

The entry of tourists from Brazil into the European country has been permitted since March 1, after one of the longest bans among members of the European Union, but there were still doubts among Brazilians about those vaccinated with Coronavac, a formula that does not have the approval of the EMA.

A Italian Embassy in Brasilia published on Friday (11) a clarification that says that, “to recognize the validity of the vaccination cycle, it is sufficient that the third dose has been administered with a vaccine recognized by the EMA”, a list that includes AstraZeneca, Janssen Moderna and Pfizer.

Among the formulas used in Brazil, only Coronavac does not have approval from the EU medicines agency. For anyone who has been immunized with the Chinese vaccine, a booster dose of any of the other formulas available in the country will be sufficient.

Proof of vaccination will serve as the equivalent of “green pass“, health certificate required by the Italian government for access to practically all activities, but it must be written in Italian, English, French, Spanish or German.

If it is in Portuguese, you must bring a sworn translation. Handle
