Meeting takes place to adjust the implementation of the Italian consulate in SC and ES

Italy's Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Ricardo Merlo, is expected to meet with Italy's ambassador to Brazil, Antonio Bernardini, and the governors of Florianópolis and Vitória, Carlos Moisés and Renato Casagrande, respectively, in June.

The purpose of the meeting is to finalize the details for the establishment of the Italian consulate in Santa Catarina and Espírito Santo.

A historic demand by the Italian community in both states, the opening of consular offices is close to happening.

Sources close to Merlo guarantee that the new consulates will begin serving at the end of 2019.
