In a surprising announcement, the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, declared on Friday (20) that he was separating from journalist Andrea Giambruno.
In a post on social media, Meloni wrote: “My relationship with Andrea Giambruno, which lasted almost ten years, comes to an end.” The announcement came hours after a satirical television program, “Strip The News“, having transmitted explicit comments made by Giambruno to co-workers.
According to information from the Italian press, Andrea Giambruno's statements were made off air. Among the comments, it is possible to hear the presenter praising a colleague: “You're so smart... Why didn't I meet you sooner?“. Furthermore, he admitted to having a mistress, stating: “Everyone knows“, referring to the television station for which he works. He continues: “Now you also know".

A month ago, the TV presenter had already made sexist comments in relation to a rash of rapes in southern Italy. He said: “If [women] avoid getting drunk and losing consciousness, maybe they will also avoid getting into specific problems, because that is where the wolf is found.".
When Giambruno commented on the women's behavior, Meloni defended his words, claiming that they had been misinterpreted. Now, the separation between the prime minister and Giambruno comes amid growing controversies and surprising revelations.
