Purchasing power of Italian families grows 3,3%, says Istat

Italy's National Statistics Institute (Istat) reported on Tuesday (2) that the purchasing power of households in the country grew in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period the previous year.

According to data collected by the agency, the difference between the two quarters grew 3,3%.

The agency added that the increase was slightly cushioned by the increase in consumer prices, which was 0,2%.

In another section, Istat revealed that the recovery in families' propensity to save their savings, which had reached its lowest point in the last quarter of 2022, increased by 2,6 percentage points in the first three months of 2024, reaching 9,5% . (HANDLE)
