The President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, will be in Brasilia on November 7 and 8 to participate in the meeting of heads of parliament of the G20 (P20) countries, a group led by Brazil in 2024.
The event, which takes place about 10 days before the G20 leaders' summit in Rio de Janeiro, has as its central theme the fight “for a fair world and a sustainable planet”, with the objective, according to the Federal Senate, of debating “urgent global issues, such as the fight against hunger, the reduction of poverty and the fair and inclusive ecological transition”.
Fontana will speak at the third working session, on Friday (8), at 9:30 am, at the headquarters of the Chamber of Deputies, with the theme “The construction of global governance adapted to the challenges of the 21st century”.
The final declaration of the meeting will then be adopted and the baton of the P20 presidency will be passed to South Africa, which will lead the G20 in 2025.
The Italian Chamber Speaker is also expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of Asian countries. (HANDLE)
