Brazilian tourism in Italy could grow 15% in 2026, according to a projection by the official Italian portal InfoMercatiEsteri. The survey points to a 10% upward trend in the first four months of the year, compared with 2025.

In 2024, Brazilians recorded approximately 1.4 million arrivals and 3.8 million overnight stays at Italian lodging establishments. In 2025, overnight stays remained stable and the number of travelers declined slightly, according to the report.

The expected recovery comes amid an expansion of international tourism. Data from the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) show that overnight stays by foreign visitors grew 12.3% in the first quarter of 2026 and 4.6% in the second, compared with the same periods in 2025.

Veneto, Tuscany and Lazio report higher occupancy

During the European summer of 2026, Veneto posted a saturation rate of 65.6% in accommodations marketed through online platforms. In Tuscany, the rate reached 62.5%, above the Italian average of 61.8%.

Lazio, the region where Rome is located, recorded 16.3% growth in this indicator compared with the previous summer. In Tuscany, the increase was 15.2%, according to the Italian Ministry of Tourism.

Across the country, more than 276 million overnight stays were recorded between June and August, approximately 5.5 million more than in the same period of 2025.

The data show the growth of international tourism in Italy, but do not make it possible to attribute the regional increase exclusively to Brazilian visitors.

The projected 15% increase in tourism from Brazil still depends on confirmation by the consolidated figures for 2026.
