Neighbors told TV Globo that terrorist Cesare Battisti fled

Another shame for Brazilians?

Cesare Battisti is not at his home in Cananéia.

Despite the celebration from Brazilians, the company and the Italian government, neighbors told TV Globo that they haven't seen him since November.

Yesterday, STF minister Luiz Fux stated that the current president has the power to review the PT member's act – but, until this decision is taken, the Italian will be imprisoned.

The terrorist's defense can appeal Fux's decision and ask for the case to be referred to the plenary, but it is unlikely that the trial will take place this year – the STF goes into recess next Thursday and will only return in February.

The decision on Battisti's fate could be made by Michel Temer this month or by Jair Bolsonaro starting in January. Both have already expressed their desire to send the terrorist back to Italy.

Matteo Salvini, Italian Deputy Prime Minister, celebrated the arrest warrant for terrorist Cesare Battisti:

“A life prisoner who enjoys life on the beaches of Brazil, despite his victims, makes me furious! I will give great credit to President Jair Bolsonaro if he helps Italy achieve justice, 'presenting' Battisti with a future in the country's prisons.”

Battisti is in Brazil thanks to the courtesy of the now-prisoner Lula, who vetoed his extradition on the last day of his government, in 2010.
