The Italian community of Espírito Santo is celebrating. Opens its doors on November 16th, the new Consular Office in Vitória, which aims to meet requests for passport and request of Italian citizenship. The information is from consulate-General of Italy in Rio de Janeiro.

The consular office will operate in Conilon Building, at Rua Clóvis Machado, 176, in Enseada do Suá, on Mondays, from 9 am to 13 pm, and from Tuesday to Friday, from 14 pm to 16 pm. 

“The opening of Italy’s new consular structure in Vitória is the result of the decades-long struggle of the Italian-Capixaba community“, said Cilmar Franceschetto, advisor to Comites ES, the council of Italians abroad.

For Franceschetto, this new consular representation will reinforce Espírito Santo's ties with Italy, in several areas of interest, being able to encourage greater commercial, cultural, tourist, educational exchange and training of our young people for entrepreneurship, in different areas of the world. knowledge.

“We are the birthplace of Italian immigration in the country: the mass immigration of Italian peasants to Brazil began here, with the arrival of the Tabacchi Expedition, in 1874. And we have Santa Teresa as the first city founded by Italians”, he said in interview with A Gazeta.

Regarding requests for issuing passports, whose booklets will continue to be printed at the Consulate General of Rio de Janeiro, the consulate informs that the service will be confirmed by telephone, or by e-mail, taking into account the chronological order as stated in the current waiting list.

In addition to the procedures for obtaining the passport, the Consular Office will respond to requests for keeping and updating the Consular Registry (AIRE), certifications, attestations, certified copies and provisional ETD travel documents.
