A suspended cycle path designed to be the most beautiful in Italy: this is what Venice, Italy, promises.
With approximately 5 kilometers in length, the work will be carried out in the metropolitan region of the city, in Cavallino Treporti, and will be part of the requalification of the lakefront that will reach the district of Punta Sabbioni.
It will be a panoramic walkway, made of metal, which will give a big boost to tourism, advances the E-Farm Engineering & Consulting, a civil engineering company based in Padua, and responsible for the project.
“Everyone will want to come, if only to admire the skyline from Piazza San Marco, just like tourists do when they go to Brooklyn to enjoy the panorama of Manhattan,” says the mayor of Cavallino Treporti, Roberta Nesto.
The walkway will literally be stuck in the rock and will be a real 5 km long terrace. It will be aimed at both cyclists and pedestrians who want to enjoy a walk overlooking the Venice lagoon at any time of the day or night. It will be equipped with night lighting.
The work will be completed in three years and will connect to an existing cycle path, totaling 20 km.
